Undoubtedly, the most spectacular aspect of Polish fashion under socialism was the textile pattern design, which was predominantly abstract or geometric. Those created by Anna Orzechowska and Alicja Wyszogrodzka have achieved cult status.

Nonetheless, only a small percentage of Polish women could afford to purchase them. For most of the population, they functioned as an inspirations for DIY projects. At the time, producers didn’t have to worry as much about demand and could focus on their craft.
