Ty i ja (you and me)magazine: the style bible of the ‘60s

The first issue of the monthly magazine Ty i Ja (You and Me) published by the RSW Prasa National Magazine Publishing Company came out in 1960. For 13 years, it served as the go-to source for everything to do with fashion, with style editorials treated with as much earnestness as any other facet of culture, design and art.

In 1961, Teresa Kuczyńska became the magazine’s editor-in-chief. Her fascination for fashion and the biggest trends coming off the prêt-à-porter and haute couture runways across Europe was infectious. Her approach to style as an aesthetic phenomenon was celebrated in the work of Poland’s most illustrious photographers and illustrators, which accompanied her features in Ty i Ja (You and Me).
